The Jacqui Lambie Network (JLN) introduced the author of an independent economic review of the proposed Macquarie Point stadium to anti-stadium activists before he was formally appointed to conduct the review.
The JLN, which secured the review as part of a deal it struck with the Liberals to form government, suggested Dr Nicholas Gruen for the role and he was then appointed.
What’s next?
The Tasmanian Planning Commission is assessing the stadium under the Project of State Significance process. Its final assessment is due in September before the project is voted on in parliament.
