In short:

After the release of a scathing draft report on Hobart’s proposed stadium from Tasmania’s planning commission, Premier Jeremy Rockliff has confirmed he is seeking advice on bypassing the current assessment process.

Mr Rockliff says the parliament will get the vote on the project, with or without the current Project of State Significance assessment.

What’s next?

The AFL stadium project was expected to come before parliament towards the end of the year, where it will need Labor’s support to get through the lower house. Special legislation could bring it on earlier.
