A Tasmanian Planning Commission panel has released a scathing draft report on the proposed Macquarie Point stadium.
The report says the proposed stadium would be “overbearing”, that it risks Tasmania’s credit rating, has minimal social and community benefits, and does not serve a purpose as an urban renewal project.
Macquarie Point Development Corporation chief executive, Anne Beach, defends the stadium plans, telling Leon Compton on Tasmania Mornings that they are working through the recent reports.
