Hobart Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds says the council’s chief executive has been asked to undertake an urgent memorandum of understanding with the state government about the proposed Macquarie Point Stadium.
She tells Ryk Goddard on Hobart Breakfast the council shouldn’t be left out of the decision making because it will have responsibilities relating to the development.
“It’s a very serious and significant issue for the city,” Ms Reynolds says.
“So this stadium order that’s come before the MPs and will be voted on in a couple of weeks actually draws the Hobart City Council and its ratepayers into a huge amount of responsibility and tasks and duties.”
