In short:
During an anti-stadium rally in Hobart in May 2023, former Liberal MP Bridget Archer sent through a letter of support for the “no stadium” camp.
In it, she said “many in the community rightly believe that instead of hundreds of millions more being to fund a stadium in Hobart, federal support is needed for essential services”, but she has since changed tack.
What’s next?
Ms Archer, who is a moderate ally to Premier Jeremy Rockliff, is seeking preselection to run for the state seat of Bass.
NOTE from Our Place: Ms Archer provided a statement to be read out at our May 2023 NO STADIUM rally. You can read it here.
Good choice - Bridget Archer is strongly against the MAC Point stadium. #nonewstadium

Wow! The only things that changed since Ms Archer opposed the stadium in 2023 is that the cost of the stadium has near doubled and the Tas budget disaster has gone from critical to catastrophic. Where’s the integrity? #nonewstadium
