The return of Tasmania’s parliament has been dominated by debate on the proposed Hobart AFL stadium, in the wake of a damning report from the state’s planning commission.
The Labor Party raised concerns over the government’s ability to deliver the stadium, while an Independent and the Greens called for the project to be abandoned.
What’s next?
The project looks set to be referred to a financial oversight committee for further scrutiny, while parliament is set to vote on the project later this year.
