The federal government has endorsed two key plans for the redevelopment of the Macquarie Point precinct in Hobart.
Under the terms of the funding agreement with Tasmania, the federal government said it would commit $240 million to the Macquarie Point precinct, which needed to include a mix of residential, affordable and essential worker housing.
In a joint statement today, the federal and state governments said that Canberra had now accepted “both the Macquarie Point Precinct Master Plan and Housing Plan”.
It said discussions were “underway on financial delivery milestones”.
