As Hobart’s proposed AFL stadium at Macquarie Point comes before both houses of Tasmania’s parliament, outspoken senator Jacqui Lambie is calling on the state’s upper house to vote it down.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff last week vowed to continue with the controversial project, despite a planning commission report — 12 months in the making — that recommended against the build.
What’s next?
The project will come before the parliament in November, with parliamentarians to have the final say. The decision will have no recourse for appeal.
