Tasmanian Labor has formally declared it supports the proposed Hobart waterfront AFL stadium, saying while it is “deeply concerned” about the cost, the “power of Tasmania finally realising its dream of entering the national competition through the Devils [AFL team] cannot be underestimated”.
Labor had appeared to be watering down its support for the controversial project last week, when the party said it needed time to consider a scathing report by the Tasmanian Planning Commission.
