A strategic business case for “rapid bus” development on Hobart’s northern suburbs rail corridor is now overdue, and residents are being informed of further site investigations.
The corridor has been the subject of more than 30 studies spanning 15 years — and is now forming part of the potential transport solution for the proposed Macquarie Point stadium, although it finished well short of the CBD.
What’s next:
The state government says the development requires further Commonwealth funds, but it is still uncosted.
Jeremy Rockcliff says the Hobart stadium will be "the enabler" for the infrastructure needed to get people into it and out of it. Like building two new ferries was "the enabler" for the docks they needed except the Tas Government didn't build the docks. Couldn't build a chook shed, IMO.
