Tasmania’s government agencies have been ordered to achieve $1.47 billion in “operational efficiencies” across the next four years.
Exactly how that will happen has not been clearly mapped out in the budget, with many departments asked to make a percentage “efficiency” cut, leaving it up to departments to figure out.
However, we do know Treasurer Eric Abetz aims to cut 1,700 public service jobs.
