A media company that produces satirical political videos has been told it could face jail time and fines over a video which shows the Tasmanian Premier’s face.

The Juice Media’s latest clip, uploaded on March 16 as part of their “Honest government Ad” series, lampoons both the Tasmanian Liberals and the Tasmanian Labor Party in the lead up to the state election.

In a community post on their YouTube channel, they said they had received a take-down notice from the Tasmanian Electoral Commission (TEC) after a complaint was made claiming the video breached the state’s Electoral Act by showing a photo of the Premier.
