Leon Compton examines the fallout from the ABC’s recent publication of articles by Chris Rowbottom and their use by the Premier to claim that Dr Gruen’s report is ‘tainted’.
Leon’s guests include Saul Eslake who describes the attacks on Dr Gruen’s integrity as ‘very disturbing’. He states: ” … I think it was entirely appropriate for Nick Gruen to meet with people who were opposed to the stadium as well as people who were supporters of the stadium, as I understand he did. I think the order in which he did it is completely irrelevant.”
This segment on the stadium runs from 14.40 to 24.44.
Later in same program, Leon hosts his “Friday Forum” with 3 guests. This runs from 1.07.07 (good place to start for intro to guests). For us, the relevant segment starts at 1.24.36 and runs to 1.29.50. The 3 guests are Julian Amos, Leanne McLean and Neil Grose. Highlights include Neil Grose’s suggestion that the government removes this from the PoSS process “at their peril”, noting that “projects like this do need scrutiny”. And Julian Amos’ view that “the attack on Gruen has been disgusting, absolutely disgusting”.
