Walk to protect the Cenotaph
Where and when
Meet us in Elizabeth Mall between 9.15 and 9.30 on the morning of Sunday 10 November.
We will set off at 9.30am.
We will walk up Elizabeth Street to Bathurst Street, across the Brooker Highway Bridge and finish our walk crossing the Bridge of Remembrance.
Respecting the site
We are walking to join an event hosted by RSL Tasmania. They are standing vigil, not hosting a protest rally. They ask that we lower any banners we are carrying as we approach the Cenotaph.
Can you help with a donation on the day?
Some of us will be lining the path just before we get to the Bridge of Remembrance with buckets in hand. If you want to make a contribution, remember to bring some cash and keep an eye out for collectors.
Can you help us get this done?
We need help now and on the day. We need people to:
- put up posters
- letter drop businesses and residences on the walk route
- photograph and video the event
- act as marshalls in high vis (we will supply the gear)
- rattle donation buckets
- offer first aid if needed (must be accredited).
We have a great poster as a free download. Can you get a few printed and ask local businesses to put them up in their windows?
