Indigenous Cultural and Heritage Centre
The Indigenous Cultural and Heritage Centre could be a location for gathering together Tasmania’s indigenous culture.
It could accommodate performance, workshop, retail and gallery spaces, as well as offices, meeting, education and archive facilities. It could reflect the vision of how Tasmanian aboriginal people want to acknowledge and celebrate their culture.
Given the Centre’s potential location, at the heart of the Macquarie Point Vision, it could be the only new building on the pre-colonial shoreline, in recognition of its significance, of the importance of indigenous people and culture in contemporary Tasmania and of a shared history.
